juilee road Chapter-two

Jeremiah.jpg

Families are like fudge: pretty sweet but can have some nuts thrown in.  Now this here is the family tree of Jesus.  Not every single twig mind ya, just the big branches and hardest nuts so as you can know that His kinfolk go all the way back to Adam and Eve, the very beginning of this old world.  And we ain’t listed just the heroes, but the half-baked as well.  No sense in tryin’ to hide the crazy kin-folk, no sir we bring em’ right out to the front porch and give em’ a  sweet tea. The reason for this is so that everyone everywhere can know that these big-ol-branches cover everybody and Jesus is the savior of all, not just a select few from high cotton.

Now that we got the list of kin-folk out the way, this here then is the tale of Jesus’ birth and how it all came to happen.  (TAKE A QUICK LOOK-SEE AT THE GREY BOX)

Mary, who was so sweet she could charm the dew off a honeysuckle but was still a young-un herself, was pledged to a wood workin’ handyman by the name of Joseph. However, before the wedding cake was baked something scandalous happened! Rumor got round that Mary had herself a biscuit in the oven and this was before her and Joseph had yet to even steal a kiss much less have relations.  No sir, that kind of thing was reserved for the wedding night!

Now Joseph what folks would be thinking and women would look at little-ol Mary and start whispering to each other that “a whistling woman and a crowing hen ain’t fit for neither God or men”.  And, bein’ a four-squared fella and wanting to do the right thing, he planned to quickly and quietly  put things to rest and let Mary go her own way all without kickin’ up a fuss like a tornado in a pepper patch.

But that night, as Joseph lay sleepin’ sounder than a hound dog after huntin’, he was visited in a dream by an angel of the Lord.  The angel said to him, “ Joseph! Wake up boy! Do not be afraid of takin Mary-lou to be your better half. For the child she carries was given to her by the Holy Ghost! She will give birth to Jesus because He is gonna save His people! Well go on, skedaddle!

So Joseph bolted out of bed like a scared haint and did just what the angel told him and took Mary-lou as his very own.  Now they figured it better not to exercise their spousal prerogatives until after the baby was born.  When He came, they did just as the angel had said and, even though neither one em’ had any relatives by that name, they called Him Jesus.

So this here is a partial genealogy of Jesus
